Meet the Heart Behind Aralin World ❤️
Get to know the heart behind Aralin World—my story, my love for teaching Tagalog, and the journey that led me here. Let’s connect!

I realized I never properly introduced myself—so here’s a little glimpse into the person behind Aralin World.
I’m Albine, a native Tagalog speaker born and raised in the Philippines. This year, I turn 55 (though my birthday’s still months away 😉). In 2016, I left the motherland for love—my husband, Bruce, an American who swept me off my feet. No kids, though I was once a mother… but that’s a story for another time.
I’ve always been a teacher at heart. Back in the Philippines, I was 70% Teacher, 30% Computer Engineer, guiding college students in Programming and Electronics. Now, I’m 60% Teacher, 20% Computer Engineer, and 20% Artist—America gave me the space to finally embrace watercolor painting. Another story for later.
Our household is small but full of love: Bruce, my poging asawa, Ryan, my wonderful step-son (our prince), and Nori, our princess Siamese cat—a queen in her own mind, but forever a toddler in ours. 😆
I laugh a lot, but I cry a lot too. Life’s been a mix of joy and struggles, and my biggest challenge has been my relationship with my family in the Philippines. That’s partly why I’ve been quieter on social media these past two years. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on generational trauma, wondering why Filipinos are fun but some parts of our culture are… difficult.
But through it all, I hold onto my passion: teaching Tagalog like a mother teaching her toddler how to speak. With warmth, patience, and a whole lot of love. 💛
That’s a little piece of me. I’d love to hear about you too—what brought you to Aralin World? Hit reply and say hi! 😊
Usap tayo (let's talk),
